Last year I competed in my first ever event, The Warrior Dash. I gained three major things from the muddy 3 miles.
- An absolutely unforgettable fun experience
- That I am no longer in the same physical shape that I was telling myself
- A birth of determination
As soon as the Warrior Dash announced new dates we were committed to competing again.
For some people things come easier than others. Running does not come easy for me. So to help with that I signed up for several 5K.
I ran the Wild Waggin 5K with a time of 34:09
I also ran the Color me Rad 5K which was disappointingly not timed
Lastly I competed in the Zombie Escape 5K with a time of 43:42 placing me tenth in females
This weekend I am running the 5K for Someone Special Like Me and June 1st is the Warrior Dash
Also this year I switched over to using Bobbi Brown products which are absolutely amazing, I'll later blog the specific products I use. In making the switch I decided to take another step in skin care and I gave up tanning beds as well as added SPF to outdoor activities.
This year was also the first time I fully committed to lent, I gave up meat on Fridays and Fast food. This gave me another idea. This year I will give up something different each month but not necessarily permanently. The month of April I gave up chocolate and now I don't feel this desire to eat a piece all the time. This month we gave unhealthy drinks which includes alcohol, Redbull, 5 hours, coffee (because what I do to coffee makes it unhealthy) and soda
I have about a week and a half left till June and I haven't thought much about what to give up next. Suggestions?
In just the last several weeks I decided that if I was going to work so hard on my physical activity then I would have to start eating right too. I mean otherwise I kind of felt like I was defeating the run or workout that I just put in. So here's to correct proportions but not calorie starving
Lastly I gave up eating two hours before bed
Well that about sums up where I am at right now. I hope you enjoy my blog and it inspires you in some way.
